This policy explains how personal information is handled when you visit wildnomadelephantcommons.com, contact us, buy coffee, sign up for newsletters or donate through the Foundation form.
Who we are
Wild Nomad Elephant Commons LLC (Commons) operates this website and handles coffee sales, wholesale inquiries and conservation immersion inquiries. Wild Nomad Elephant Foundation (Foundation) is a separate nonprofit organization that handles charitable contributions and Foundation inquiries. Each organization is responsible for information handled for its own activities.
Commons coffee-customer and newsletter lists are kept completely separate from the Foundation’s donor lists.
Information we collect and use
Contact and inquiry information: your name, email address, inquiry topic and anything you include in a message. We use this information to respond and discuss the product, partnership or experience you ask about.
Coffee order information: contact, shipping and billing information, purchased items, transaction and fulfillment details, and customer-service correspondence. Commons uses this information to process and fulfill orders, provide updates and handle order issues.
Donation information: donor contact details, contribution details, recurring-gift choices and donor-service correspondence. The Foundation uses this information to administer contributions, provide acknowledgments, manage recurring gifts and maintain required records.
Newsletter information: the information you provide when subscribing and your subscription preferences. Commons uses Squarespace for its newsletters. You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or by contacting the sender.
Website information: technical and usage information handled by the website and embedded services, such as IP address, browser and device information, pages visited and cookie identifiers. This supports website operation, security and the purposes described under Cookies and tracking.
We also use relevant information to maintain records, address disputes, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop necessary order messages, donation acknowledgments or replies to your requests.
Please do not send card details, passwords, passport copies or medical information through the general contact form or ordinary email. Any additional collection or sharing needed to arrange an immersion will be explained when that information is requested.
Services and information sharing
We use Squarespace to host the website and send Commons newsletters, Shopify for the embedded coffee shop and purchaser information, and Zeffy for Foundation donations and donor information. Payment information is handled through the relevant checkout or donation service. Zeffy identifies Stripe as its payment processor.
Information needed to provide a service is shared with the providers involved, such as website, email, payment, order-fulfillment and delivery services. These providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or needed to address fraud, security incidents or legal claims, subject to applicable law.

Shopify and advertising related sharing
Our coffee store is hosted by Shopify and uses Shopify Network Intelligence. When you browse or buy through the store, Shopify processes information about your interactions and purchases. It combines this with information from interactions with other merchants and Shopify to provide enhanced services, including product improvements, personalization and advertising.
Information is shared with Shopify and other service providers that may be located in other countries to provide these services. Advertising-related processing can constitute “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under some U.S. state privacy laws. The Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy linked above explains Shopify’s practices.
Cookies and tracking
The website and its embedded services use cookies and similar technologies. Some support features such as forms, shopping carts and checkout. Browser settings can restrict or delete cookies, although doing so may affect those features.
We use Squarespace analytics and visitor activity logging to understand site use. This can include pages visited, referral information, browser and device details, IP addresses and approximate location derived from an IP address. Our Squarespace site currently allows nonessential cookies without displaying a Squarespace cookie-consent banner.
For requests about Commons’ handling of your information, including advertising-related sharing, email hello@wildnomadelephantcommons.com. To request limits on Shopify’s own use of your information for advertising, or to make other requests directly to Shopify, visit its privacy portal. Requests to Shopify do not automatically change information handling by Commons, Squarespace or Zeffy.
Squarespace and Shopify state that they do not respond to browser Do Not Track signals. Do Not Track is different from Global Privacy Control (GPC). Shopify describes how its automated controls handle GPC in its customer privacy guidance. Shopify controls are separate from the Squarespace website and other embedded services.
Keeping and protecting information
Information is retained for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing services, maintaining required records, resolving disputes and preventing misuse. We may retain limited unsubscribe information so that your marketing choices continue to be respected.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information. No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Use the contact details below to ask about your information or request access, correction or deletion. Please identify the activity your request concerns. We may need reasonable information to verify a request, and some records may need to be retained for legal or other permitted reasons. Additional rights and exceptions depend on the law that applies to you.
The website is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information without appropriate authorization, please contact us.
Updates and contact
We will post policy updates here with a revised date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before changing how personal information is used.
